SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR
West Erie County Emergency Management Agency is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator that will oversee (13) municipalities. This is a CONTRACT POSITION which does not include benefits. Successful applicant must provide their own workman’s comp and liability insurance.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED, valid PA driver’s license with reliable transportation, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to pass a background check, knowledge of public safety services and ability to effectively manage the Emergency Operations Center during disaster events. Must be professionally competent and capable of planning and coordinating among multiple agencies.
Preference given to applicants who possess PEMA Local Basic Certification.

INK CARTRIDGE RECYCLING
In case you weren't aware, Rice Ave Community Library collects ink cartridges of all sizes and recycles them. They receive $2.50 per cartridge. Please consider dropping off your empty cartridges to the Library instead of throwing them away - it's a great donation!

West County residents can now use the Millfair Road Compost Site. Residents will need to show their driver’s license to enter. Leaves and brush are accepted, but no grass clippings. Mulch is also available to purchase. The site opens on April 1, 2015. The hours of operation are Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday - Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday noon - 5pm. E-WASTE AND HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION
Do you have electronics that you need to dispose of? Such as TV's, PC's, printers and peripherals, Mobile Phones, CD Players, VCRs, Stereos and Tape Players, Fax Machines, Copiers etc.
Do you have household hazardous waste you need to dispose of? Such as Cleaning Products, Automotive Products, Lawn and Garden Products, Indoor Pesticides, Mercury Thermostats or Thermometers, Fluorescent Light Bulbs, CFL Bulbs, Driveway Sealer, Flammable Products, Paint and Paint Products, Auto and Household Batteries.
Items UNACCEPTABLE are: Ammunition and explosives, Radioactive Material, Biological (sharps), and Smoke Detectors.
There are monthly recycling days at the Erie County Recycling Center at 1624 Filmore Ave., Erie, PA. The recycling center is open to Erie County residents only. A 10-cent per pound fee for e-waste and 35-cent per pound fee for household hazardous waste will be applied. A pre-registration is required. To register, simply call toll-free at (866) 815-0016.
